I am proud to be sharing a residency with Emma Taylor at Sussex Prairie Garden near Henfield, West Sussex this year. Falling in love with the prairie garden is easy and inevitable when you visit. My visits over the past two years have been an enriching and inspiring experience. It is always a joy to relax in the garden, soak up the atmosphere, chat to the owners Paul and Pauline, the workers and the volunteers. Running workshops in the Garden Room has led to many conversations with garden visitors who are always interested in the exhibitions and workshops each season. Emma and I have led a range of art and textile workshops over the last couple of years.
We have been meeting up regularly over the last few months to plan our collaboration. Rough ideas have been forged with plenty of scope for working together as well as independently. As the New Year begins the real journey of making and production is now underway. There is much to do as we firm up arrangements for our exhibition due to open to the public on 1st June 2017. Over the coming months I look forward to posting progress. Once we have put up our exhibition at the end of May we will both be running art and textile workshops during the summer months. Information about our workshops will be posted shortly.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
